It's all in the little things....

After a sobering weekend I am so glad that my family has returned home from their fun weekend in Delta. I stayed home all weekend because I had to work but Tony took the kids and went to his mom's so that they could have a little fun. I got to work all weekend and meet some really great families and hold some pretty cute kids. Did have kindof a sobering moment on Saturday when I returned back to work. One of the gals that I work with had to leave suddenly...come to find out her 34yr old husband died suddenly and unexpectedly while she was at work. It was one of those moments that you get that sick sadness in the pit of your stomach because you know that it could have just as easily been yourself having these hard life changing events happening to instead. I just asked Tony to please just bring my little family home to me safely. Thankfully Heavenly Father watched over them and they made it home last night without so much of an ounce of trouble. Today, I am feeling extremely grateful for them. I can't even begin to imagine my life without my husband. My children teach me so much and everything I do is for them in some way. I love them. Today I am grateful for the little things.

I am grateful for.....

Kayla's backpack that throws up all over my living room each day after school.
Kade's addiction to salt. :)
Popcorn pieces on the carpet.
The little boy who used 4 washcloths tonight to take a bath.
For time to read the word of the Lord with my children.
For big and little white socks on the living room floor.
Grateful for the smell of my husbands pillow to cuddle up with when I go to bed during the day and for him warming my feet up for me at night.
Kayla's constant requests for a spoon full of icing as an after school snack.
A daughter that loves to hug and be hugged.
For Kayla's excitement over the New Era magazine. She was so excited that she pretty much read every story out of it out loud to Tony and I.
Grateful for Tony who while I know he wanted her to quit reading them out loud so he could actually hear his TV he didn't say a word and just let her read.

I could keep going and going and going. These are just a few of the wonderful and sometimes irritating things that my family does and provides me. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve them as a wife and mother and I am grateful for the Lord in my life to help me to be a better person. Now, I'm grateful that my babies are in their beds, falling asleep and I too will soon be getting back in mine, hubby by my side in the warmth and comfort of my home. Life is not without trials and tribulations for which I am also grateful for but tonight I am extremely grateful for all of these little things in my life that make it so wonderful.
