Girls Camp 2008

Well, we survived. Aside from one leaking tent, rain everyday, temps in the damp 40-50's each night and a case of cellulitis. We survived! Tony had to break out the big guns on Thursday though and while the girls were making bows and arrows for their camp craft Tony stole one of the young womens and created a new weapon, the shooter stick.

The girls did great on the hike, even though it required them cross a creek 4 times.
We also had to hold our arms high as to avoid the stinging nettle. They trouped right through it and some of the girls wanted to keep going! There was plenty of watching out for the HP (horse poop). We also enjoyed Brother Randall's interpretation of a rapper on drugs, and poor Brother Grey was deemed a vampire by the girls. He always seemed to disappear when the sun came out. Hmmm.

( Brother Grey and Brother Randall)

We were extra grateful for the porta-potties, it would have been a long few days of hiking with a shovel for the girls. And we were also grateful when the priesthood moved them off the hill for us on to more flat ground.

No trip to girls camp would be complete without a trip to the E.R.
Oops, that it was me this year. I was pretty sure by Wed. night that there was something wrong with my leg but by Friday it was hard to ignore. Here's is a picture of me in the E.R. in Heber City. You know that your E.R. doesn't see much business when they have to page the doctor out of clinic to come see you. I don't think he really cared to be called that much, but oh well. I do wish he'd have told me how crappy I'd feel when the adrenalin wore off.

I was wondering (for all my nurse friends) if JACHO would oppose to this.......

It's a sign that says to keep the door closed and then a sideways picture of the door being propped open. Ha.

So, here's a picture of the Eagle Mountain 7th Ward Girls Camp...

And here's a picture of what I learned is the Mormon Bird. So the next time you feel like flipping someone off, just do it the Mormon way . . . . .

Hey Missy!
Sorry to hear about your cellulitis(sp?). Looks like you had a good time besides that. How are you guys anyway? Has your infection gone away?
